Beat & Bar Length
Beat length = 60 ÷ BPM seconds. At 120 BPM one beat is 0.5 seconds; a 4/4 bar is 2 seconds.

Typical Pop Arrangement
Most pop songs are built from 8- or 16-bar blocks: Intro, Verse, Pre-Chorus, Chorus, Verse 2, Chorus, Bridge, Final Chorus/Outro. At 128 BPM a 16-bar section is 30 seconds.

DJing taught me that 16 bars at 128 BPM is 30 seconds. I can plan a mix just by counting bars without looking at the clock.
